Living Healthier and Safer with SMDC

If there is one thing the Covid-19 pandemic has made us realise, it is the importance of health and safety. Now more than ever, Filipinos are consciously finding ways to make themselves healthier, while aspiring for secured, balanced, and generally better lives.

The SM Development Corporation (SMDC) is their partner in this quest. The country’s fastest growing real estate firm has been ahead of the curve in designing living spaces that promote a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, encourage work-life balance, and give priority to people’s safety and overall well-being.

According to the company’s president Jose Mari Banzon, SMDC has envisioned from the very beginning not only to construct residential buildings but to create living communities where people don’t just live but flourish. “We are not just building condominium units here. We’re building communities of people. We make sure people are happy, healthy, safe and thriving in our developments. And we do this while keeping them comfortable and providing them with luxurious amenities.”

SMDC now has 28 lived-in communities where people enjoy practical homes with generous amenities, hotel-like common spaces, and professional property management services. “We believe in promoting sustainability in all our projects, and we do this by making our communities inclusive and attainable to many,” he said. “In the past, you had to be well off to live in a safe community in a premier address with well-designed interiors, resort-style amenities, and round-the-clock security. Today, with SMDC, every Filipino has access to that kind of luxury,” he said.

SMDC’s “integrated development” concept where everything is just steps away has proven to be the company’s main selling point in this pandemic. “People don’t want to go far to buy basic necessities. Here they can get their food, medicines, or even a haircut right within the property. Our concept has been perfect for the new normal,” Banzon said. Units are all designed to allow ample lighting and natural ventilation and has proven to be perfect for work-from-home or study-from-home set-ups.

to their basic necessities, and a direct connection to the MRT3 Boni Station.

Banzon said with social distancing and movement restrictions becoming a part of the new way of life, more people would appreciate SMDC since they do not have to go out of their properties to have fun in the great outdoors. “They can safely stay within the property and enjoy the well-appointed amenities and facilities that define SMDC,” he said.

In SMDC, people enjoy open spaces surrounded by greenery, as well as sports and leisure amenities which compliment common work areas, thereby allowing them to balance work, rest, and play, without worrying about safety and the costs that come with it.

The health of its residents remains to be a priority at SMDC, which is why SMDC properties have amenities which help in keeping its residents in tip top shape such as swimming pools, running paths, basketball and volleyball courts, badminton courts, and a gym. There are also landscaped areas one can sit and meditate in peace should they want to do yoga or other less strenuous exercises.

To complement that, SMDC also frequently hosts activities, whether online or on-ground, to promote and encourage living a more wholesome lifestyle. This includes a sports and fitness-themed series on SMDC TV on YouTube featuring PBA legend Benjie Paras and his son, Blackwater Bossing basketball player Andre Paras on basketball drills and tips, as well as a recent webinar featuring internationally trained Chef Eugene Arador who discussed how to keep your kitchen and home sustainable.
