Piece of Work

Sometimes a good desk and ergonomic chair are all you need to build the ideal home office.

Why work from home? For one, it saves you commuting time. But staying in doesn’t mean neglecting your tasks. It’s setting aside a space in your home that’s conducive to productivity.

It may be a small corner, your bedside or even a dining table-slash-workspace situation. The hard part is convincing yourself you’re in a workspace and not at home.

With a few tweaks and adjustments, you can make any space a home office. To start, invest in a good table whose sole purpose is to be your workstation. A regular chair can only get you so far. If you’re in it for the long haul AKA long hours sitting down, you’ll need a trusty ergonomic chair to support your back. Or if you’re more of a literal upright person, you may find that a standing desk is also a good choice. Saves you chair space, too.

To complete your home sweet home office space, try to differentiate it from your actual home by setting literal boundaries like enclosures or even small things like contrast lighting, say daylight versus your typical warm bedroom lighting. This further helps you get into the rhythm and grind of your daily tasks.
